Breaking News: Barcelona finally agree to sell unhappy star to Chelsea in shock January deal

Chelsea have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Barcelona winger Malcom after the Catalans chief executive Oscar Grau suggested he might be sold, according to the Metro.

Malcom completed a £36 million move to the Camp Nou in the summer after months of being tracked by the Gunners.

The South-West London side had been heavily linked with the 21-year-old Brazilian all through the summer, but Malcom ended up in Spain instead.

However, he has only made two substitute appearances so far this season and seems not to be rated by manager Ernesto Valverde as the former Athletic Bilbao gaffer has previously referred to the player as a ‘signing of the club’.

His agent revealed earlier this month that the attacker was unhappy about his situation at the club.

‘Every player needs a period of adaptation and minutes on the pitch to prove their worth,’ Minguella told RAC1.

‘He hasn’t had them yet, but he’ll prove his worth when he does play. ‘He doesn’t like the situation, but he’s focused and very motivated.’

Chelsea still retain interest in the winger and according to reports from Spain they have made enquiries about the possibilities of taking him either on loan or permanently in January.

The Spanish media claim that Barcelona chief executive Grau now believe that the ‘player will be sold’ after failing to get the playing time they had expected he would.
