SARRI BANS CHELSEA PLAYERS FROM DOING THIS DURING TRAINING

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has revealed he has stopped Chelsea players from training with weights at the gym.

There have been several changes at Chelsea since Sarri took over form Antonio Conte as Chelsea boss including moving training sessions to afternoons.

“It’s all natural work they do in the gym. Nobody does weights,” said Sarri.

“When have you ever seen a player on the pitch carrying weights? Alvaro [Morata] stayed home and will have an aerobic training session.

“Five seconds, ten seconds, 15 seconds, recovery. It is an aerobic session and he’ll have strengthening training but we don’t use weights.

“Sometimes the players need to train on some specific things, to work on physical qualities instead, but on other things they don’t have to.

“Sometimes this is better than actually playing. If they only play, they will lose that physical quality they need.”

With Chelsea unbeaten in all competitions under Sarri, no one can complain about the changes he has made at the club.

Chelsea will be expected to return from Belarus with all three points and maintain our 100 per cent record in Europe this season.

But Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has warned the Blues to guard against complacency when we play BATE Borisov, especially after Liverpool’s surprising 2-0 defeat to Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday.
