3 reasons Chelsea might consider selling N’Golo Kante for £90m(see reasons)

Chelsea fans were hit with the breaking news recently in the Transfer Tavern of a possible bid for one of their favourite players.

PSG are reportedly lining up a £90m bid for the midfield star, N’Golo Kante. The hugely popular Frenchman has won back to back titles with Leicester and Chelsea since arriving on these shores during the summer of 2015, earning so many plaudits along the way.

Playing a crucial role in both title winning campaigns, our punters say it’s no wonder PSG want the defensive midfielder to protect the back line in order for their forwards to go out an express themselves. That’s pretty much his role in all teams and he does it fantastically well, so the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe would surely thrive.

It would be some return for a player they only signed just over a year ago for £32m, but our resident glass collector thinks Chelsea may actually consider selling if the right price is met and here’s three reasons why…

Chelsea are by no means a selling club but are known to move their players on if the right price comes along, from the days of overspending when Roman Abramovic first took over the club in recent years the Blues have looked to balance the books a little.

The fact Kante could potentially triple their originally outgoing by selling to a non-Premier League rival could sway the decision.

Most players want to return back to their native land at some point in their careers, Kante may be no different and to play for one of the biggest clubs in the French league would be a huge draw.

While Kante’s stock is high, Chelsea might look to cash in before it drops and potentially see him leave cheap or worse for free if he looked to force a move back to France, they don’t want another Diego Costa situation.

However good Kante is, the team always needs to evolve to keep right on top of it’s game, during United’s title-winning decades many a big player left and the team moved on.

Under Conte with one title under his belt, he may look to use the reported 90m to strengthen the team in different areas and build a squad for the sake of sacrificing one player.
