Eden Hazard has revealed he would like to work with former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho fuelling speculation he could be on the move in January.
Belgium international Hazard, 27, has been at Chelsea since 2012 and won the Premier League under Mourinho in 2014-15 and under Antonio Conte in 2016-17.
Mourinho now manages Manchester United, whom Chelsea face in their next Premier League match on Saturday, 20 October.
“If I’m now asked one coach with whom I want to work again, then I say: ‘Mourinho’,” Hazard told HLN.
“Mourinho’s image of an extremely defensive coach isn’t completely right.”
Hazard said Mourinho was not as “adventurous” as Manchester City counterpart Pep Guardiola but added: “The season in which we became champions, we made many goals and played good games.”
The former Lille man has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid as he was touted as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo who left for Juventus over the summer.
The forward left Lille on good terms back in 2012 and hopes for a similarly amicable move should he go on to join Madrid.
‘Chelsea were clear with me [in the summer]. I couldn’t leave the club,’ the Belgium international told Telefoot. ‘I accepted it. Anyway… leaving or staying, I was going to be happy. I do not regret this decision at all.
‘When decisions are made [that you may not like] you can sulk and often you get the last word. But I will never look to clash with the club.
‘Chelsea have given me a lot. I left Lille on good terms and I want to do the same thing here.
‘A transfer in January? It’s not possible.’
