Antonio Conte reveals that he is set to hold talks with Chelsea about his plans for the January transfer window
Antonio Conte has revealed that he is set to hold talks with Chelsea about his plans for the January transfer window.
The west London side are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and days as the January window draws nearer.
It has been something of a mixed start to the new campaign for the Blues, who are well off the pace in the race for the title following Manchester City’s blistering start
Chelsea were one of the Premier League’s most active clubs in the summer transfer window as they completed deals to sign six players ahead of Conte’s second campaign in charge.
It is no secret that Conte is keen on further bolstering his squad in the new year and the Chelsea boss has revealed that he will hold talks with the Blues in the coming days about their plans for the January window.
Conte is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “We are fighting for the best positions. We are doing a really good job with the squad we have, and we have to continue this way.
“We have 18 senior players, but I think this consideration must be done with the club. I will give my opinion when I speak with the club.
“But in the end the club has always the last word – like in the summer.
“Then we will divide the responsibility with me and with the club. We will do it together.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Stoke City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Blues head into the game looking to keep climbing the Premier League table and at least keep their top-four ambitions on track.
