Breaking News: Hazard mind made up! Chelsea star opens up on future and makes final transfer decision

Reports have claimed Eden Hazard is set to run down his contract in a bid to force through a move to Real Madrid.

Hazard has started the new season in tremendous form for Chelsea and is showing the kind of goal-scoring ability which elevates him to that next level, as he already has eight goals to his name in all competitions.

But speculation over his future has been the headlines over the last few days after Hazard announced that he was torn about whether to sign a new deal or leave at the end of the season to join Madrid, who he almost made the move too during the summer.

“I don’t want that,” Hazard said.

“I want what’s good for me, but I want what’s good for the club because the club has given me everything.

“I don’t want to say: ‘Yes, I am signing a new contract’ and then in the end I don’t end up signing. So I will see. Sometimes in my head, I wake up in the morning and think I want to go. Sometimes I think I want to stay. It is a hard decision. It is my future. I am 27 and I will turn 28 in January.”

“That’s why I spoke after the World Cup and I said that I think it is time to change because I played a great World Cup,” he added.

“I am really in the game, I am playing good football at the moment. Real Madrid is the best club in the world. I don’t want to lie today. It is my dream since I was a kid. I was dreaming about this club. We will see. I don’t want to talk about this every day. I don’t have time but we will talk about my future soon. I think so.”

But now Spanish website Marca have claimed Hazard has made up his mind and does not intend to force Chelsea into a corner in the same way Thibaut Courtois did, but is confident he can manufacture the move by declining any contract extensions.

Hazard is currently tied to Stamford Bridge until 2020, and knows should he enter the summer of 2019 without having agreed a new deal, Chelsea will have to chose whether to sell him or lose him on a free transfer the following year.

Here is what we think on the latest rumour.

Even though Chelsea were reportedly confident Hazard would sign a new contract to stay at the club, we were never in doubt that he would agree to a new contract, even if they offered him £750,000-a-week to stay.

His mind is on Madrid and this season he will give everything for the club, as he knows it will be his last at Stamford Bridge.
